Penny Lord (born Pauline Eve Macaluso, 1928 – died January 21, 2014) was a well-known Catholic media figure.

Along with her husband Bob Lord, she hosted many television series on EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network), often filmed at shrines, sanctuaries, and pilgrimage sites. Their focus was on promoting the lives of the saints, Eucharistic miracles, Marian apparitions, and travel to holy places.

Origins & Spiritual Renewal

  • In 1975, after the tragic death of their son, Bob and Penny experienced a return to faith.
  • They attended a Marriage Encounter retreat which rekindled their commitment to the Catholic faith and marriage as a vocation.
  • In 1976, during their first pilgrimage to Europe, they encountered the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano, which had a deep formative effect on their ministry direction. T
  • his pilgrimage experience prompted them to search out other shrines, especially those associated with Eucharistic miracles, and to share these encounters with others.

Virtual Pilgrimage Ministry

  • They formally founded their pilgrimage and evangelization ministry, Journeys of Faith, in 1980.
  • Through the 1980s onward, they directed group pilgrimages to many Catholic shrines across Europe, Mexico, and beyond.
  • Journeys of Faith no longer takes our Pilgrimages but we do have Virtual Pilgrimages available.

Holy Family Mission & Later Work

  • Around 2000, Bob & Penny established Holy Family Mission in Morrilton, Arkansas, on donated land (83 acres).
  • There they built a replica of the Holy House of Loreto (Nazareth’s home) as a pilgrimage and retreat site.
  • Their work included writing books (25 in total), producing television series, videos, media on the Eucharist, Marian devotion, saints, and apparitions. Their book This Is My Body; This Is My Blood: Miracles of the Eucharist became especially popular and was a foundational work in their ministry.
  • The ministry continues beyond their lifetimes: their adopted daughter, Luz Elena Sandoval-Lord, helps manage pilgrimage operations and continues evangelization work.

“This is the will of God, your sanctification.”  1 Thess 4

In 1976, Bob and Penny discovered the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano while on their first pilgrimage in Europe. Thereafter, they began searching out the shrines of the various Eucharistic Miracles.

In 1980, Our Lord called them to bring Pilgrims to those shrines , to teach them about the miracles, and  Journeys of Faith was born. We no longer take our Pilgrimages however we continue to create virtual pilgrimages as Bob Lord called them armchair pilgrimages, watching them on your tv.

In 1986, they wrote their first of 25 books This Is My Body, This Is My Blood, Miracles of the Eucharist. It is still our best seller!

Our Religious Gift Shop is the largest in the region with thousands of Catholic Items. We also have resources to make items of your design.
