The Seraphic Adorers of the Child Jesus  is a contemplative community of women in the Diocese of La Crosse, WI, whose lives are dedicated to adoration of our Eucharistic King. The community lives a simple and joyful Franciscan way of life.

The sisters are consecrated to the Divine Child Jesus, King of Love, and strive to daily grow in the virtues of His Most Sacred Heart. They also intercede in His Eucharistic Presence for the needs of the Church, the world, all priests, and those who send their intentions or ask the sisters to pray for them.

Over 2000 years ago, Jesus walked along the Sea of Galilee and called His apostles to Himself saying, "Come follow Me." Today Jesus stands at the door of hearts, whispering the same call, "Come follow Me!" The harvest is great, but the laborers are few, so we must pray that the Lord sends out many workers into His harvest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Divine Child Jesus refers to Jesus Christ depicted as a child, emphasizing His true humanity, His divine identity, and the invitation to approach Him with trust, simplicity, and love. In Catholic devotion, images of the Child Jesus often remind believers of the Incarnation, meaning that God truly became man, and they highlight virtues such as innocence, humility, and confidence in God. Different traditions express this devotion in different ways, including the Infant of Prague, Santo Nino, and Divino Nino imagery. The "King of Love" style especially focuses on Christ's loving kingship and His call to follow Him with childlike faith. Many Catholics choose a Divine Child Jesus statue for a home prayer space, chapel, classroom, or gift because it creates a visual focus for prayer and reflection. This type of statue is best for Catholics who want a devotional image centered on Jesus' childhood and Sacred Heart spirituality. It may be less suitable for shoppers seeking a more formal crucifix or a statue tied to a single, specific apparition.
No, Christians do not generally understand the Bible as forbidding all religious statues. The biblical prohibition is against worshiping idols as gods, not against making sacred art itself. In Catholic teaching, statues are devotional reminders that help direct the mind and heart to the person represented. They are not worshiped as if the material object were God. This distinction matters when choosing a statue for prayer. A statue of Jesus, Mary, or a saint is used as a visual aid for devotion, meditation, and teaching. It can help families, parishes, and schools keep Christ at the center of daily life. The important point is the intention: honor and prayer are directed to God, not to resin, wood, or paint. For shoppers considering a Divine Child Jesus statue, this means the item is best understood as a sacramental-style devotional image for reverent display. It is especially helpful for those who appreciate visual reminders of faith, but it may not appeal to Christians who prefer a tradition with little or no religious imagery.
Start by looking at devotional style, size, material, and craftsmanship. A good Divine Child Jesus statue should match the purpose you have in mind, whether that is home prayer, parish use, a gift, or a devotional collection. Important practical details include height, width, durability, and whether the hand-painted finish gives the expression and details a reverent, lifelike appearance. This particular statue depicts the Divine Child Jesus as "King of Love" and measures about 14 inches high by 5 inches wide, which makes it a noticeable but manageable size for a prayer corner, shelf, or small altar. It is made of resin and or fiberglass and is hand painted in Colombia, so shoppers who value artisan religious pieces may find that especially meaningful. This kind of statue is best for people seeking a devotional image with visible handcrafted character. If you need an outdoor statue, a very large church piece, or a minimalist modern design, a different material or scale may be a better fit.
Choose the size based on viewing distance, available surface space, and the role the statue will play in the room. For most home altars, shelves, and prayer tables, a medium statue is often the easiest choice because it is visible enough for devotion without overwhelming the area. You should also check the base width and the depth of the surface where it will sit. A 14 inch statue like this Divine Child Jesus "King of Love" figure works well for a home prayer corner, bedside table, bookshelf, office shelf, or small chapel display. At about 5 inches wide, it is compact enough for many indoor spaces while still having a strong devotional presence. It can also serve as a focal point alongside candles, prayer cards, a rosary, or a Bible. This size is ideal for shoppers who want a substantial indoor statue without moving into large sanctuary scale. If you need a centerpiece for a wide church vestibule or outdoor garden shrine, you will likely want a larger and heavier statue instead.
Resin statues are popular because they can capture fine details, hold paint well, and are usually easier to display indoors than heavier materials like stone or solid plaster. Fiberglass can add strength while keeping the statue relatively manageable in weight. For many shoppers, resin and fiberglass offer a practical balance of detail, durability, and affordability for indoor devotional use. This Divine Child Jesus statue is described as being made of resin and or fiberglass and hand painted. That means the finish and sculpted details are important parts of its appeal. These materials are especially useful for medium-sized statues that need to be sturdy enough for home or chapel display without becoming too heavy to handle safely. The main tradeoff is that resin and fiberglass are not the same as carved wood or marble, so shoppers seeking heirloom natural materials may prefer other options. For most Catholic households, though, these materials are a sensible choice for a reverent indoor statue with good visual detail.
A hand-painted statue is often the better choice if you value individuality, expressive detail, and a more artisan look. Hand painting usually means small variations in facial features, shading, and color accents, which can make the image feel warmer and more devotional than a uniform factory finish. It is especially meaningful for collectors and for people creating a prayer space with personal character. This statue is hand painted in Colombia, and that matters because the craftsmanship is part of the product's identity. The listing also notes that the work supports people in Colombia who have been trained to paint these statues, which may matter to shoppers who care about the human side of religious craftsmanship. The tradeoff is that hand-painted items can show slight variation from one piece to another, so they may not look perfectly identical to every photo. For many buyers, that is a strength rather than a drawback. If you want a devotional statue with handcrafted character, hand painted is usually the stronger option.
A Divine Child Jesus statue is especially meaningful for Catholics devoted to the Holy Childhood of Jesus, Sacred Heart spirituality, and childlike trust in Christ. It can also be meaningful for families with children, teachers in Catholic classrooms, and anyone building a prayer space centered on Jesus' love and presence. Some shoppers also choose this type of image because of connections to traditions such as Divino Nino, the Infant of Prague, or saints who had a special devotion to the Child Jesus. This "King of Love" statue may particularly resonate with people drawn to the imagery of Jesus as both child and king, combining tenderness with divine authority. The product description also connects this devotion with figures such as Saint Teresa of Avila, Saint Therese of Lisieux, and Mother Angelica, which gives buyers helpful spiritual context. This statue is best for devotional display and prayerful reflection. It may be less relevant for someone looking for a sacramental gift tied to a specific event like baptism or confirmation unless the recipient already has a known devotion to the Child Jesus.
Yes, a 14 inch Divine Child Jesus statue can be an excellent Catholic gift when the recipient has a devotion to Jesus, the Holy Childhood, or religious home decor. This size is substantial enough to feel meaningful and display-worthy, but it is still practical for most homes, offices, and prayer corners. It works especially well for birthdays, housewarmings, RCIA milestones, Christmas, and devotional gifts for families or religious educators. Because this statue is hand painted and made in Colombia, it has more character than a very small generic figurine. The "King of Love" title also gives it a strong spiritual theme, making it more than a decorative object. It is suited to someone who will actively use it in prayer or keep it in a visible place as a reminder of Christ's love. The main consideration is personal devotion. A statue is a thoughtful gift when you know the recipient appreciates Catholic imagery. If you are unsure of their style or available space, a prayer book or medal may be a lower-risk alternative.
Display an indoor hand-painted religious statue on a stable, level surface away from heavy traffic, moisture, and direct sunlight. Sun exposure can fade painted finishes over time, and damp conditions may affect the surface or encourage dust to cling more easily. A shelf, mantel, prayer table, or dedicated home altar is usually the best location. For care, dust the statue gently with a soft dry cloth or a clean soft brush. Avoid harsh household cleaners, soaking, or abrasive scrubbing, especially on hand-painted surfaces. If the statue includes fine painted details, gentle handling is important when moving it for cleaning or seasonal decorating. For this 14 inch Divine Child Jesus statue made of resin and or fiberglass, indoor devotional use is the safest assumption unless a seller specifically states otherwise for outdoor display. This kind of care is best for collectors, families, and parish users who want the statue to retain its color and detail over time. If you need something for permanent outdoor exposure, choose a statue specifically rated for that purpose.
The best place to find a suitable Divine Child Jesus statue is a trusted Catholic retailer that clearly lists the statue's size, material, devotional style, and craftsmanship. When comparing options, look for accurate measurements, close-up photos, and a description that explains whether the piece is hand painted, what it is made from, and whether it is intended for indoor home devotion, chapel use, or collecting. At Journeys of Faith, this Divine Child Jesus "King of Love" statue is presented as a 14 inch hand-painted piece made in Colombia from resin and or fiberglass. That makes it a good fit for shoppers who want a medium-sized indoor devotional statue with visible detail and a distinct Catholic spiritual theme. It is especially useful for home altars, prayer corners, and gifts for those devoted to the Child Jesus. If you are searching locally, ask whether the store carries Divine Child Jesus, Divino Nino, or Infant Jesus statues specifically. Many general decor shops will not provide the same devotional context or product detail that a Catholic-focused source can offer.
